Northern Powerhouse event touches down in Sunderland

Delegates from as far afield as India, the USA and Indonesia are assembling in Sunderland this month to find out more about the success of the Northern Powerhouse.

‘Doing Business with the Northern Powerhouse’ is being staged by innovation company, RTC North at Sunderland’s Nissan Motor Manufacturing plant on Tuesday March 15th, as part of the Northern Powerhouse initiative designed to energise the northern industrial economy.

The event will showcase the manufacturing and research strengths of the Northern Powerhouse region and provide opportunities for businesses to meet with other companies as well as overseas economic development bodies, country representatives and specialist advisors in IP, international regulation and distribution and joint venture agreements.

With a dynamic economy larger than the population of Belgium, the Northern Powerhouse is going from strength to strength. Businesses right here in the North export over £60bn of goods and services to every corner of the globe.

Businesses from outside the UK are keen to be a part of the growing success of the Northern Powerhouse, and this event will bring northern companies and international trade experts together to expand on the region’s success. 

On the day, delegates with hear from a variety of experts including UK Trade and Investment, a UK Government department focused on assisting businesses in reaching international markets, innovative advanced manufacturing business Tharsus, and QuantuMDx, a high growth biotech company based in Newcastle.

RTC North CEO, Gordon Ollivere MBE, added:
